Weekend
of the Beast
Took
in a couple Devil movies over the weekend. Exorcist SE and The Ninth
Gate. Weezy has a weak stomach when it comes to Satan at the
Cinema, so I went with m'sister. Exorcist had some pretty chilling
new footage. Ninth Gate came out of the gates (ha!) pretty strong, but
fizzled in the end. I
hear the
book is much better. That Depp fella has been down hill since 21
Jump Street...
Pondering
a Suave New Look
I'm
thinkin' about incorporating the Robot Punch into the Toshi
Station main page. Turn the links on
that page into icons or something that would run along the right
side of the page. I dunno. Maybe not such a hot idea, eh? Does
anyone here view the site at 640x480?

I
Love it When a Plan Comes Together
Allow
me to take a moment and break-down the A-Team scene I mentioned
the other day (below). Dig this:
|
Templeton
kickin' it freestyle, waitin' for his
credit to roll. |
|
Cue
the Cylon, out for a casual stroll. |
|
Glint
of recognition in the Faceman's eye. |
|
Face
raises hand, opens mouth as if to say "Wassup!"
or perhaps, "Don't I know you?"... |
I
always assumed it was just Face reacting to another one of
Hannibal's fiendishly clever disguises. How could I have ignored
his rich Battlestar heritage? You can download the
entire scene in one glorious 239k
animated gif courtesy that Foo Dan. Is he The Man, or what? |

Well
Duh.
Y'know
in the opening credits of The A-Team, when they are introducing
"the team" and there is Dirk Benedict as Lt. Templeton
"Faceman" Peck, lookin' suave in his white suit-coat on
a sunny boardwalk
somewhere? Now a Cylon Centurion from Battlestar Galactica strolls
past him and the Faceman opens his mouth as if to say something
(like he's recognized an old friend) but thinks better of it.
Can you
believe the connotation of that scene has only just now hit me?
I've seen it one thousand times and I never made the Faceman/Starbuck
connection. My stupidity, apparently, knows no depths.
Anyone
have a good picture of this scene?

Y'Gotta
Have Art
Van
Gogh this Sunday at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Strictly for
the hip. Bought tickets in advance rather than deal with shady
scalpers ("Whatchu need? Whatchu need? 'Pressionism? Gots the
mad 'pressionism right here, yo. Starry Night, G. Tato Eaters.
Whatchu need?")...

Post
o' the Day
The
sparkly new next-generation Nintendo gaming machine, tentatively
named "Dolphin", has been officially delayed
until the first half of 2001. Gah. Not totally unexpected, but disappointing
just the same. Why has Nintendo forsaken us?
Link
o' the Day
The
official Bruce Campbell
site is back online (down all last month). That Babblings
section is chock full of good stuff, if you haven't been
before.

Take
a gander at this high-class gentleman's club a friend of mine ran
across in North Carolina. Nothing exudes culture and

Scope

Is Starsky and Hutch even on anymore? Seems like that TVLand
channel would be all over that show... Stuck the old CHiPs
entrance in the Archive
section (gonna
miss it - one o' my favs). |

Hot
Chocolate and Slice of Pie
Saw
that Reindeer Games flick last week. What was I thinkin'? I
suspected it would be a loser and sure enough, it was a loser. Two
hours of my life down the tubes. Seemed to be a long series of
close-up shots - one piled on top of another. Bad movie. Bad, bad
movie.
Baronial
Donicker
Luke
from that Charge
Particle site (A Proud Heritage of Communism) sent along this
image of the Ultimate Throne. Ahhh, to have one of these bad
boys under your posterior...
That
hard-hitting Silky Interview I mentioned last month should be
showin' up any day now.
