| The sizes of the Ralph McQuarrie paintings that dotted the exhibit landscape were a complete revelation to me. The painting in the middle left of this picture is the very same deal that appears on the cover of the Illustrated Guide to the Star Wars Universe (the Jawa trading bonanza). This painting, like all the McQuarrie paintings at the show, is startlingly small -- probably 11" wide by 5" high. The amount of detail it contains in the paltry space provided is a testament to the heaps of divine talent we all know Big Ralph possesses (and probably the reason he wears glasses). |
