Whacha-chicka
Whacha-chicka Whacka-chicka
A refulgent, lovingly crafted MP3/MST tour-de-force. I
was at once bemused and intrigued by its cabalist presumption: Behold
the Master Ninja Theme Song. Thank the CP. |

Mach
One.
Met The Man (Chuck Yeager) over the weekend. The grand
opening of Cabela's was a zoo - jam packed with people and
taxidermy. Only hung around long enough to snag Chuck's
Johnny Hancock and some complimentary venison jerky. Want to
see what it was like? Well, because I'm a chump about these
digital cameras, yer gonna have to wait for the pictures to
develop. Sorry bub. Yeager looked good though. Old, but good.
Seemed to still have his act together.
Meeting
the General was an odd experience. I've shaken hands with some
"famous" folk in m'time (Berni Wrightson, Lou Ferrigno,
Evel Knievel, Zach de la Rocha, etc), but I can't recall meeting
anyone historically important, y'dig? This guy had the
marbles to strap his butt into a small rocket with wings and out
run sound for first time - a feat widely thought impossible (to
survive). Strange t'think that in this day of space stations,
cell phones, and clear-colored Kool-Aid you can still go out and
meet a fella with a significant accomplishment like that under
his belt. Human betterment and all that. Know what ahm sayin',
yo?

Still Wearing My Ears and Nothing Else Fell Off, Neither
Chuck Yeager will be making an appearance at the grand
opening of Cabela's in Dundee, MI next week (23rd, 24th).
Cabela's, as I understand it, is some kinda giant sporting goods
store. Why Chuck would show there is a mystery, but any fella
with the brass to strap himself inside the X-1 and bust the
sound barrier for the first time is a man I'd like t'meet.
Second
only to Knievel in terms of backbone. |

Lookin'
for Duke
New magazine (on news-stands as we speak) called
"Total Movie" comes with a DVD chock-full of good
junk. Kevin Rubio's "Troops" short, along with another
hysterical short film called "The Dancing Cow". About
18 trailers t'boot. The magazine +DVD is a mere $8. If you can't
score one at your local bibliopole, try clicking
here for a free issue trial subscription type thing. She's
good stuff, I tell ya.
Indecisive
Wussy Boy
Can't seem to pull the trigger on this dang digital
camera purchase. Here is the short list:
Kodak
DC 4800
Nikon Coolpix 990
Sony DCS-S70
Olympus 3030z
Nikon Coolpix 880 (new!)
That
Coolpix 880 won't be out until next month, but early reviews
have been very positive. All the image quality and most of the
features of the 990 - packed into a much more aesthetically
pleasing camera. This could be our horse.
Actually
startin' to think it may be better to hold off altogether. 3
mega-pixels is TOL (top o'the line) at this point. Hear tell
that a reg'lar film-type camera is the equivalent of about 5-6
mega-pixels. 5-6MP can't be far around the corner. Maybe another
year at the most. I'd hate to drop large scratch on a camera
that will be inferior product in only a year.
On
the other hand, we want to play with one of these bad boys today.
Not a friggin' year from now. I can always sell it, right?
No
Vacancy
Didn't think I'd notice you kids laughin' behind my
illiterate back didja? Well, m'good eye spotted the
"vacancy" typo from the post below. Joke's over, punk.
Ah'm leavin' it.

Did I ever show you this rejected Station Entrance? S'bad.
Been sittin' around for many a month now. Didn't go over well with the test audiences.

Ahhhh, September. The Month of Double Domiciles. Thas
right, one house just can't contain me - I'll own two for the
entire month. Actually, we just closed on the new pad, and the
old digs won't be sold off until early October. So, if you need
a place to teach your Wednesday evening karate class, I've got
some extra floor space.
