Behold:
San Diego
Comic Con 2007. This year the big event ran
from July 25th through the 29th (including "Preview Night"). Don't recall
the crowds ever being quite so thick. Fri, Sat, and Sun all sold out
- first time in it's 36 year history
any day sold out. Attendance
estimates are in the 140,000 range, which, as anyone
who attempts to cross the main exhibit hall can
attest, is easy to believe. Highlights:
- Caught up with Lucasfilm/Gentle
Giant/Dark Horse/Weta party regular
Richard Taylor on Friday night.
Showed off baby pictures on his cell.
Evening Low Point: heard after the fact
Frank Miller was at the same party. Never
saw the guy.
- Designed
another official Star Wars Fan Club
Breakfast ticket.
- Took in the
Paramount panel, which included Indiana Jones
footage (Karen Allen looked great), Iron Man
(Iron Man looked great), Spiderwick
Chronicles (trolls looked great), and Star
Trek (Spock looked great). Also sat in on
the Lost panel and the Blade Runner/300 DVD panel.
